Mega Pig Club Relaunched

The new-look Brawl Stars club event – known as Mega Pig – is set to launch next month after Supercell shook up the Club League format. Mega Pig sees the Club League tournament and reward system swept away for something new.

Club League events, which took place twice a month, saw organised teams competing over a three-day-long tournament. The best-performing teams secured promotion to a higher division, while the worst-performing were relegated. Club League events were one step removed from the competitive esports format, though professional and amateur players completed alike.

While the Club League system saw Pale Fox Esports’ community earning a place in the top league – the Master’s Division – Mega Pig events won’t be ranked in the same way.

The new Mega Pig format brings a host of changes to the semi-competitive format. The new approach means teams will compete in an open matchmaking system with a win helping to fill up a pig – acting something like a pinata – with rewards that are broken open and released at the end of the event. The Mega Pig events will take place once a month, though they will run weekly in the first month.

Speaking about the Mega Pig launch, Pale Fox Esports’ Dragonfly said: “Club League has been a really good part of life here at PFE. Since we launched our club, it’s helped us build a community, bring people together, and enjoy playing games with each other. We have people not just from the UK or Europe coming together but across different parts of the world too.

“Club League was great because it had a competitive feel, but it focused on encouraging team play without the same edge as competing at an esports level. It felt like a halfway house between casual play and esports. That’s great for bringing something a little bit different to an organisation like ours, and we will miss it for sure!
