PFE Reach DC Autumn Finals

The Pale Fox Exports roster has continued the rediscovery of their competitive form this week after securing a well-deserved qualification for the YxDC Seasonal League Finals.

32 teams from across the region took part in the qualifying stage of the tournament, which was made up of eight round-robin style groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group qualified for the grand finals, while the bottom two teams were eliminated from the competition. The Pale Fox Esports team were drawn in Group H alongside AO Instinct, TeMaTi, and Penelope.

Week one of qualifying saw the team face off against TeMaTi and they swept to a 2-0 victory, followed by a week two win by the same margin over Penelope. Heading into the final match of qualifying against AO Instinct, both teams knew that victory would mean they would top the qualifying table as the only unbeaten team in the group.

It was Pale Fox Esports that triumphed in the match, taking a 2-0 win over AO Instinct, and earning the unbeaten, table-topping record. AO Instinct had to settle for second place, though they also qualified for the tournament’s grand final stage.

Also qualifying for the grand finals after winning or finishing second in their qualifying group were: CAC, It’s Not Ping, Genius Sqeak, Packin, SRM, Wild West, F/A Mamoebel, Kebap, Eclipsar Academy, NARCIS, VN Esporting, Pizza, and Pingou Supreme.

Speaking about the team’s qualification to the YxDC Seasonal Finals, Pale Fox Esports’ Dragonfly said: “It’s great to see the team performing at a good level again – things are back on track. We had a rocky patch in the ESL split just gone, everyone knows that, but the guys put a run of good performances in to finish the split strongly and they’ve continued that on.

“We want to say a big thanks to Mric who played as our third during the qualifying stages – which kicked off before RoUND came on board with us properly. He’s brought an extra touch of quality to the roster, and that’s not only something we benefit from but also something that we can learn from as well.

“We’re looking forward to the finals now. There are some very good teams who have qualified alongside us, and so it’s going to be a tough thing to go on and win it, but we’re going to give it our best. Anything can happen when it comes to a single elimination knockout format, so we’ll have to see on the day!”
